To connect your tank to your guttering, you’ll need the correct diverter for your downpipe shape.

🟦 Rectangular Diverter

Use this if your downpipe has flat sides or a rectangular shape.

⚪ Round Diverter

Use this if your downpipe is fully round.

✅ Quick check: If the downpipe is round all the way around, choose the round diverter. If it has any flat sides, choose the rectangular diverter.

The Essential Range tanks come in three parts:

1. The stand
2. The water butt
3. The lid

Upon delivery or collection, the stand, diverter, and tap are placed inside the tank for compact transport.

Assembly Steps

1. Remove the stand from inside the tank.

2. Place the stand on a flat, level surface (many people use a paver for stability).

3. Position the water butt on top of the stand.

4. Secure the lid once everything is in place.

Installing the Diverter

1. The drill bit required for installation is included in the diverter pack.

2. Drill one hole in your downpipe and one in the tank using the supplied bit.

3. Ensure both holes are level, as shown in the image below — this is essential for the overflow to function properly.

4. Cut the hose to length so it runs straight, not on an angle or bend.
   
   

Installing the Tap

• The tank has a marked position for drilling the tap hole.

• Use a 26mm hole saw or flat drill bit to create the hole.

• Insert and tighten the tap securely.
